Home Buyers Information Night

Mackay property experts join forces to educate local homebuyers

One of Mackay’s most-recognised communities, Plantation Palms – a masterplanned development that will create 2000 homes in the city’s northern beaches– will join forces with industry experts on Wednesday, 4 June to host a free, non-obligatory information event aimed at educating homebuyers about the property purchasing process and the Mackay market.

Industry professionals at the event will include mortgage brokers, solicitors, land sales and building representatives to present information that will empower homebuyers to feel confident and prepared to purchase their own home. The event comes at a time when, despite house and land packages being more affordable than ever, interest rates at an all-time low and builders’ increased capability to construct in shorter timeframes, buyers are in need of greater education about the property buying process.

In speaking with home buyers on the ground, Plantation Palm’s says greater education is needed about key details related to purchases, such as deposits, pre-approvals, stamp duty, interest rates and eligibility for the Government’s Great Start Grant. Additionally, factors such as the recent Government Budget announcement and changes to Queensland’s Property Occupations Bill (QPOB) have left buyers feeling overwhelmed by the property buying process.

“The recent Budget announcement has left middle-income families questioning their household expenditure and if they can afford to secure a property this year. Brokers will be able to work with these families to map out a mortgage payment plan that is adaptable to their circumstances,” says Kim Clarke, Developer of Plantation Palms and Managing Director of Xcel Properties. “The event will also clarify the buying and building processes for house-and-land packages.”

Main topics to feature at the event include:

  • the process of purchasing land and building a new home,
  • legal obligations, including the steps required and associated fees,
  • finance requirements such as options for deposits, stamp duty and mortgage insurance, and
  • eligibility for the Government Great Start Grant.

The Plantation Palms information event is suitable for first homebuyers, buyers looking for their next property and investors. To secure your spot visit eventbrite to RSVP. Guests are advised to get in quick as spaces are limited.

Plantation Palms currently has house and land packages from $364,000.
