Doors open to ‘pop up’ village with grand backyard party

Plantation Palms, a masterplanned community in Mackay’s northern beaches, will celebrate their brand new ‘pop up’ Display Village with a grand opening backyard party on Saturday 21 November.

Built in a thriving area of Plantation Palms, the ‘pop up’ Display Village includes homes by leading Mackay builders Gemini Homes, Hotondo Homes and River City Homes, and offering price transparency, each home can be built for $240,000, with the only variable in the build being the cost of land – a first for Mackay.

Kim Clarke, the developer behind Plantation Palms, has worked in the property market for more than 25 years and says that unlike any other estate in Mackay, this Display Village has affordability in mind.

“Price transparency is not always easy to determine when you are looking to build a new home, but in these display homes, every fixture and fitting you see is included in the price.  If there is a stone benchtop in the kitchen, you get a stone benchtop in your kitchen,” said Mr Clarke.

“We are experiencing increasing consumer interest in the affordable house and land price range and are finding that there is strong competition from the established home market. To address this we created a small ‘pop up’ Display Village specifically for this market.  For the first time in Mackay, consumers looking for a home under $250,000 or a home and land package under $400,000 will be able to walk through a brand new home knowing that they can afford it.”

The Grand Opening Backyard Party is a family event aimed at giving buyers the chance to walk through affordable homes available under $250,000 to find the one that addresses their current and future needs. Visitors will also be able to view live demonstrations including a bedroom styling session by L’Amour Home.

Buyers will also have the opportunity to chat with builders and home loan lenders.  The BBQ is free for all that attend, and the event will feature live entertainment and activities for people of all ages.
