Plantation Palms held its launch party for its first release of 100 lots at the marketing suite last October. It was a complete success with around 40 attendies such as Mackay Mayor Julie Boyd, Jan Jarrett State Member for Whitsunday, Paul Ramsay, Michael Siddle and Peter Evans of Paul Ramsay Group, John Clarke, Graham Taylor, Joan Byers and Don Rolls from Mackay City Council, the consultants and staff from WS Group, Connell Wagner and Civdec Construction, and members of the Symons family who own the land, June and Bob Critchley. Everyone involved in the development from representatives from Mackay City Council, the building industry, Xcel Property Group, Paul Ramsay Group, and some media outlets all turned out for a few green apple martini's that matched the green branding of the Palms development.
